Joe Rogan, UFC commentator, has just shared the new experimental method he recently underwent in order to ensure that, at 58 years old, he remains in a strong state of health that allows him to continue leading a highly active lifestyle without major limitations in his daily routine.
For several years, Rogan has openly positioned himself as a strong advocate of cell-based treatments, and now he has undergone one that appears quite extreme, although he claims it is highly beneficial for his body and contributes positively to his overall physical performance and recovery process.
The procedure he underwent is called plasmapheresis, and in a post he shared on his Instagram account, he provided further details about what this process does to his body and the benefits that can be obtained from undergoing it under controlled medical supervision.
The plasmapheresis Joe Rogan underwent
Went down to @Ways2Well and did plasmapheresis."..."This is the stuff they pulled out of my blood. That yellow/orange liquid is plasma.
This is what the UFC presenter posted on his social media account, adding:
It's basically like changing the oil in your body. It seems very weird when you do it, but the people that I know who have tried this have experienced better sleep scores and markedly better recovery.
From a more medical standpoint, plasmapheresis helps filter substances such as toxins from the liquid found in the blood known as plasma, removing elements that may interfere with optimal bodily function over time and affect recovery efficiency.
Afterward, the cleaned plasma is returned to the body. Although the commentator assures that it is also beneficial for overall performance and general health, its broader effectiveness continues to be evaluated in specialized medical environments and discussions.
In the United States, this type of procedure carries a cost of $10,000, although it may vary depending on specific conditions, as it is a process that must be performed in a highly specialized manner and under particular protocols established by medical professionals.
This is not the first time Rogan has undergone such procedures. He appears to be a fan of these practices. A couple of years ago, he underwent stem cell therapy. At that time, he stated that it reduces inflammation, increases range of motion, and supports tissue regeneration in different areas of the body.
Joe Rogan has expressed that he deals with pain
When he was younger, Rogan practiced mixed martial arts. Now a successful commentator in the sport, he previously competed actively, subjecting his body to constant physical strain that now leads him to seek these types of recovery methods and experimental treatments.
He was a black belt in jiu-jitsu and also participated in the world of taekwondo, which likely explains why he now experiences ongoing physical discomfort across different areas of his body and recurring pain issues.
My back is all f*cked up. From the top of my neck, all the way down to my lower back."..."Have issues from Jiu-Jitsu. Jiu-Jitsu is the worst. Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling. It's like people are constantly shoving your neck into the ground.
Said Rogan on JRE #1942.
For that reason, he has also undergone IV therapy procedures that help him recover more quickly, maintain a clearer mindset, and keep his body prepared for whatever challenges may come next in his demanding personal and professional routine.
