- NFL Draft. Who is Jaffer Murphy, the college kicker who broke conventional wisdom at UTSA's Pro Day?
A lot of things go into an NFL Draft prospect being deemed "clean". Aside from having talent and production on the field, NFL front offices also want to be sure that a player they're drafting isn't prone to getting in trouble off the field.
That's the biggest reason for why teams have so many interviews and visits with draft prospects. They want to do as much in-depth research as possible, since they're about to give a player - who's technically an unknown at the next level - a four- or five-year contract.
When it comes to Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, the investment from an NFL team is expected to be steep. Despite the running back position becoming devalued - and somewhat undervalued - in today's NFL, Love has been rumored to be an option as high as No. 4 overall to the Tennessee Titans.
Jeremiyah Love says his somewhat boring life won't cause NFL teams any trouble
Love's playing ability speaks for itself, as does his insanely efficient production over the last two seasons with the Fighting Irish. But it might be his laid-back personality that is swaying teams throughout the pre-draft process. Love himself recently explained why his relatively boring life outside of football is "not going to cause you no type of trouble".
Reports surfaced around the time of the combine that the Titans were enamored with Love and consider him the best overall player in the draft. Whether Love is drafted that high is another story, though, as positional value comes into play in a draft with a lot of high-end talent at other positions.
