UFC 322 had the looks of a truly special event. Taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York, it was an opportunity for UFC fighters and celebrities to steal the headlines with any notable action. Dillon Danis, who was ringside, decided to insert himself into the conversation.
In order to do so, he got into it with Team Khabib, going toe-to-toe in a massive crowd brawl against Islam Makhachev's teammates. Makhachev, meanwhile, was arriving at the stadium for the main event, in which he will face Jack Della Maddalena for the Welterweight Championship.
"John Pork" cultivates growing legacy by punching Dillon Danis
It's unclear exactly what kickstarted the brawl, but Danis has been posting anti-Makhachev stuff on social media leading up to the fight. Among the people wailing on Danis in the fight was Magomed "Chanco" Zaynukov, who went viral during this week's press conference and has been dubbed "John Pork" by many MMA fans.
Danis took some punishment, then got escorted out by security in handcuffs. It's another bad look for Danis, which has become commonplace for the semi-professional MMA fighter over the past few years.
We'll see if Dana White comes out with any type of statement about the incident.
