John Ternus, Apple's new CEO, plans to change the world with artificial intelligence

Apple is facing a time of change, after the departure of Tim Cook as CEO of the company, replaced by John Ternus, a 50-year-old engineer who has spent much of his career within the company. Cook will remain with Apple as executive chairman, from September, when Ternus takes up his new position.

On this new beginning, the newly appointed CEO wants to focus on artificial intelligence (AI), with the intention of "changing the world once again". In fact, Cook and Ternus held a meeting at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, United States, to prepare the transition plan.

According to Bloomberg, Cook is very satisfied with his decision: "Apple will be my top priority. It's my essence, and I can't imagine doing it any other way," he told the media outlet.

"I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and thank you for believing in me to lead the company that has always put you at the center of the work. This is not a goodbye. It's a hello to John and I can't wait for you to get to know him as I do," Cook said in his farewell remarks.

John Ternus' new plans for Apple: "AI has almost unlimited potential"

For Ternus, AI should be the key piece of Apple's new project: "I assure you that we are about to change the world once again," he said. For him, this tool has "almost unlimited" potential: "I'm really excited about what that will mean for our users," he explained.

This is understandable, as Apple is far behind other tech giants in the field of AI, such as Google. In fact, it relies on this company for the renewal of its Siri assistant.
