- Super Bowl. Stefon Diggs and Cardi B make a strange decision after the Patriots' Super Bowl loss and hint at their breakup
Vanessa Bryant acknowledged Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime appearance in her own understated way, offering a brief message that cut through a much louder national reaction.
As the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks paused play on Sunday, the Puerto Rican superstar took over the halftime stage, unveiling a performance rooted in cultural imagery that quickly became a lightning rod for opinion.
Bryant, the widow of late NBA icon Kobe Bryant, shared her response on Instagram shortly after the show aired.
"Felicidades," Bryant wrote.
The simplicity of her message stood in contrast to the intense scrutiny that had surrounded the halftime show well before kickoff.
Political backlash
Once the NFL announced Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl 2026 headliner, discussion began immediately, stretching beyond music and into politics and culture.
In January 2026, only days after the league confirmed the booking, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem weighed in during a conversation with conservative podcast host Benny Johnson, delivering remarks that drew widespread attention.
"They suck, and we'll win," Noem said. "They won't be able to sleep at night because they don't know what they believe. And they're so weak, we'll fix it."
When the halftime show unfolded at Levi's Stadium, reactions poured in from every corner. Bad Bunny's performance, which featured a custom Puerto Rico-themed set and ran just over 13 minutes, earned admiration from supporters who saw it as a moment of representation on a global platform. Others, however, responded far more critically.
U.S. President Donald Trump was among those who voiced strong opposition. In a post on Truth Social, he delivered a harsh assessment of the show.
"The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn't represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence," Trump wrote. "This 'Show' is just a 'slap in the face' to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day."
