- NFL. The Eagles haven't ruled out trading AJ Brown if they receive "the right offer"... even if it has to happen on draft day
The Philadelphia Eagles have taken a low-risk step to strengthen their receiving depth, agreeing to a one-year contract with wide receiver Elijah Moore. The signing offers Moore a fresh opportunity while giving Philadelphia another versatile option in its passing attack.
Moore, who turns 26 this week, experienced a turbulent 2025 campaign that saw him split time between the Buffalo Bills and the Denver Broncos. In Buffalo, he appeared in nine games with two starts, recording nine receptions for 112 yards before being released in late November.
He later landed in Denver, where he spent time on the practice squad and was elevated for the AFC Championship Game, contributing a modest stat line with one catch for four yards.
Despite that uneven season, Moore's overall body of work suggests untapped potential. A former second-round selection by the New York Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, he entered the league with considerable promise after a productive college career.
He spent two seasons in New York before being traded to the Cleveland Browns, where he continued to show flashes of playmaking ability. Over the course of his NFL career, Moore has totaled 209 receptions for 2,274 yards and nine touchdowns, numbers that reflect both his involvement and the inconsistency of his roles across teams.
Fresh opportunity in Philadelphia
Now in Philadelphia, Moore steps into a system known for its creativity and ability to maximize offensive talent. The Eagles' scheme could allow him to contribute in multiple ways, whether lining up in the slot, stretching the field, or providing yards after the catch.
With competition for targets always high, Moore will need to prove his reliability and consistency to secure a meaningful role.
One factor working in his favor is his close personal and professional relationship with Eagles star A.J. Brown. The two wideouts were teammates at the University of Mississippi and have maintained a strong bond ever since.
Their connection goes beyond football, as both have supported each other through challenges off the field. Brown has publicly credited Moore with helping him navigate a difficult period involving mental health, while Moore has spoken about Brown's mentorship and guidance throughout his career.
That familiarity could make Moore's transition smoother, both in the locker room and on the field. Established trust between players often translates into better communication and chemistry, something that can elevate an offense over the course of a long season.
This move represents a calculated gamble with potential upside for the Eagles. If Moore can rediscover the form that made him a highly regarded prospect, he could become a valuable complementary piece in an already dynamic offense.
At minimum, the deal adds depth and competition to the roster.
