A.J. Brown becomes the most expensive and desired piece on the market

Ahead of free agency, Philadelphia expects that whoever wants the player must offer what he is worth

AJ Brown remains on the radar of several NFL teams ahead of free agency. He has become an object of desire for franchises hoping he can strengthen their rosters. However, inside the Eagles' front office, they understand that keeping him will not be easy, and whoever wants to take him away will have to pay a very, very large amount of money.

The 2025 season was not an easy one for the Philadelphia receiver. It was filled with many ups and downs and proved rather modest in terms of production, something that led to constant frustration with Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni.

Despite all of that, he continues to generate strong interest among other franchises that would like to add him and reinforce their offensive units to become serious contenders for the Super Bowl.

Although the Eagles' management has repeatedly said that their player is not available to leave, it has acknowledged that it is listening to offers for him and expects them to be truly spectacular before even considering giving the green light.

Philadelphia's conversations with other teams about AJ Brown

This past Sunday, March 8, 2026, during the latest episode of SportsRadio 94WIP, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Eagles have been engaged in conversations with teams interested in acquiring the services of AJ Brown.

He also added that despite all the noise surrounding Brown, the organization does not want to let him go because it still sees plenty of potential in him.

The Eagles have maintained a conversation with several teams, ... have checked in recently on A.J. Brown as far as a potential deal there."..."But just based on kind of where it seems things stand right now, I do not sense a lot of momentum toward an A.J. Brown deal. There have been, as I said, talks and certain times we've seen something might get done. I just don't sense that right now.

Rapoport said and added.

The reality is, where their cap is right now with the A.J. Brown contract, it actually makes more sense for them to trade up after June 1st as you could kind of get through the hardest part, capitalize the $40M, ... Do the Eagles want to or are they willing to wait after the draft to do a deal for Brown. ... There's a lot of questions there. And most people believe that if this does not happen by tomorrow, then everyone probably has to hit pause. It could be coming, but that situation is not reality just yet.

AJ Brown remains under contract with the Eagles

It is worth remembering that AJ Brown remains under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, as in 2024, he signed a three-year contract extension worth $96 million.

For the 2025 season his numbers were not what many expected from him, although they were far from poor.

  • 1,003 yards
  • 78 receptions
  • 7 touchdowns

The strong rumor circulating across the NFL that he could leave Philadelphia stems largely from his dissatisfaction with the reduced role he has had within the team, which is why he would prefer moving to a place where he can receive greater involvement and a more prominent role in the offense.
