The controversy surrounding the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 has reached a new boiling point. This time, legendary coach and Hall of Famer Bill Parcells has come to the defense of two figures with whom he shared history, glory, and even some tension: Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft.
The story of two of the men who forged the New England Patriots dynasty-and how they were left out of the Hall of Fame-has become one of the most critical talking points of Super Bowl LX. Various personalities have questioned that if a multi-time championship-winning owner and a head coach with multiple Super Bowl rings are not worthy of the Hall of Fame, then who is?

What did Bill Parcells say?
After it was confirmed that both the architect of the Patriots dynasty and the franchise owner were omitted from this year's list of inductees, Parcells did not hold back in an interview with journalist Dianna Russini. "The snubs to both men... it's ridiculous," said the two-time Super Bowl winner. "They undoubtedly deserve to be in."
For Parcells, who coached the Patriots from 1993 to 1996 and had Belichickas his right-hand man for 15 years across different teams, the voters' decision is not based on football merit but on subjective issues. "The voters turned this whole thing into a joke," fired the 84-year-old strategist. "Too many people take things personally with their feelings instead of doing the job. That's what happened here."
Punishment or justice? Criticism of Canton voters
The absence of the two key figures who delivered six Vince Lombardi Trophies to New England has sparked a national debate about the selection criteria. Reports suggest that some members of the voting committee may have blocked Belichick's induction as a form of delayed "punishment" for the 2007 Spygate scandal or for his historically cold relationship with the media.
In Kraft's case, questions have been raised about why the most decorated owner of the modern NFL era should be forced to wait longer than expected. Parcells insists that regardless of the personal frictions he himself may have had with both men in the past, their historical impact is undeniable.
Legends speak out: Former Patriots criticize the Hall voters
Parcells is not the only one speaking up. This year, several historic figures from the New England Patriots have voiced their outrage, pointing to an apparent bias against the organization:
- Vince Wilfork: The former defensive tackle agreed with Parcells that certain voters excluded Belichick for strictly "personal" reasons rather than a lack of credentials.
- Rob Gronkowski: The legendary tight end called the situation incomprehensible given the dominance the duo exerted over the league for more than two decades.
- Asante Samuel: Although he has been critical of Belichick on other matters, he also expressed disappointment at what he considers a lack of respect for the legacy of a coach who changed the way modern football is understood.
The omission has left a stain on the 2026 process, and as Canton prepares for its next ceremony, some are questioning whether it can truly be called a Hall of Fame when two of the most successful men of the century are not enshrined.
