Nagy's plans have changed in recent days
Matt Nagy had his sights set on landing a NFL head coach position after spending the last three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs as their offensive coordinator-not before being fired from the Chicago Bears following four disappointing years between 2018 and 2021.
Nagy's plans shifted when he saw the Tennessee Titanshead coach vacancy slip away, where he was a finalist, but Robert Saleh ultimately won the job.
The now former Chiefs offensive coordinator continues his search for a head coaching role, and all signs point to Eric Bieniemy returning to the team-one of Travis Kelce's favorites. In this scenario, it opens the door for the historic tight end to return for one more NFL season, though he hasn't commented yet on retirement.
Eric Bieniemy served as the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2022, a period in which he consistently led one of the NFL's top-five offenses. Under his leadership, the team reached three Super Bowls and won two championships, establishing themselves as one of the most dominant dynasties in NFL history.
But returning to Nagy's case, it's highly unlikely his NFL career ends here. Several teams are also looking for offensive coordinators, so he could be forced to accept one of those offers.
In addition, he has been linked to head coach vacancies with the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, and Las Vegas Raiders.
