Finishing last at anything will never be something to brag about, but there are occasions when it becomes extremely severe. And when it happens in a fantasy football league, the punishment becomes even harsher.
Anyone who has played in one of these leagues knows how complicated it is to finish in last place. At the very least, you endure jokes and mockery from the friends who make up the league.
But there are times when punishments among friends with financial means go far beyond anything normal, leading them to impose truly severe consequences that ultimately become unique, and even magical, anecdotes.

Ending up watching Super Bowl LX in a remote place where football is virtually unknown
This is exactly what happened to Joel Solomon, host of the podcast Still Against All Odds, who finished in last place in the fantasy football league he created with his friends, a result that sent him all the way to Mumbai, India.
Football is barely followed there, and now he must find a place that will broadcast the game and remain open at 5:00 a.m., local time, when the opening kickoff of Super Bowl LX is scheduled.
I need to make an announcement ... a little bit of business."... "Unfortunately, this will be my last show for at least a little bit. I lost one of my fantasy leagues, and the bet was I need to watch the Super Bowl in a city of the winner's choice. My cousin Derek, he won the league, and he chose Mumbai, India. And I'm not kidding, that's where I'm off to. I hope I'll be able to watch the game there. But no, this is very real. I am Mumbai bye bye, at least for a little bit.
Solomon said.
The story behind Joel Solomon's punishment
After his fantasy football season ended with him at the bottom of the standings, he received this peculiar punishment: more than ten hours of travel away from home.
It's the first year of the punishment."..."The commissioner is big time into fantasy. He lost a league and last summer had to sleep overnight on the beach in Westhampton [New York]. So we always thought it was funny ... the idea of sending someone somewhere. Leagues [in the past] have done it where you need to spend a day somewhere, fly to a random city, etc.. But flying somewhere for the day isn't so bad. And I'm sorry, but sitting all day in an IHOP and eating pancakes is not a punishment.
Solomon told Sports Illustrated.
We thought the biggest football day of the year is the Super Bowl. The most fun is going to parties and being home for the food and watching all day. So what if you [as the loser] weren't here for it but literally in another country. Basically like the London game of the Jaguars of Super Bowl parties. Like you were exiled from the Super Bowl.
Said the participants in the fantasy football league.
That is how the winner was allowed to choose the destination the loser would have to visit, a place more than ten hours away on an international trip and somewhere he had never been before. The chosen destination was India, flying twelve hours from Los Angeles to Dubai and then three more hours on to India.
Now, Solomon documents his unusual journey following the defeat of his team in the league he created with his friends.
