Sherrone Moore's former assistant unleashed a statement regarding the harassment she suffered

The case, far from being resolved, seems to have more threads than a single strand

The former executive assistant of Sherrone Moore stated through her lawyers that the former Michigan Wolverines coach used the university's platform to harass her over the course of several years. This was reported by the Detroit Free Press on Monday, March 9, 2026.

The statement emerged as part of a public filing related to Paige Shiver on March 6. The former Wolverines coach reportedly had a romantic relationship with Shiver and allegedly attempted to force his way into her apartment.

The declaration came after Sherrone and prosecutors reached an agreement in which he pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges. In that same statement, the woman's lawyers criticized the university for its handling of the situation.

Paige Shiver's statement

This case is about far more than one terrifying incident."... "It raises urgent and troubling questions about how a powerful figure within a major university athletic program was able to engage in years of inappropriate conduct toward a subordinate without meaningful intervention or oversight.

The statement read from Andrew M. Stroth and Steven A. Hart, two Chicago-based lawyers.

Our client believes strongly that she may not be the only person who experienced inappropriate, coercive, or predatory behavior from this individual.

The University of Michigan is one of the most well-regarded institutions in the world, yet they have an athletic department that has a pattern and practice of systemic failures."..."Our pursuit on behalf of Ms. Shiver is to get some level of accountability and justice so this doesn't happen to other individuals.

Stroth said.

The woman is no longer part of the university. Her contract ended in February 2026, and it was not renewed. It should be remembered that Sherrone remained in charge of the Wolverines after Jim Harbaugh left to coach the Los Angeles Chargers.

He was suspended for the first three games as part of the sanctions imposed by the NCAA following the sign-stealing scandal carried out by a member of the team's staff. Under his leadership, the team finished with a record of 8-5 in 2024 and then 9-4 in 2025.

The situation has become increasingly complicated for the coach, who lost his job after becoming involved in a personal scandal that now represents a major obstacle to finding work within another program.

Last week, on Friday, March 6, he appeared in court to continue the legal process that remains ongoing. He was accompanied by his wife, the two of them holding hands, as well as his attorney. Everything seems to indicate that she has forgiven his infidelity.

Moore's résumé within college football is impressive, and he could very well find employment elsewhere in the future. It may not initially be as a head coach, but perhaps as an assistant, which could eventually allow him to rebuild his reputation and revive his career.

The road ahead will undoubtedly be extremely rocky. Still, it could represent a chance to start again for a coach who will need to continue working to support his wife and daughters while also sharing his knowledge with younger players.
