Dante Moore struggled badly in the first half of Friday night's College Football Playoff semifinal, and as Indiana pulled away at the Peach Bowl, NFL fans flooded social media with jokes linking Moore's performance to the New York Jets.

On Oregon's first offensive snap, Moore threw a pick six just 11 seconds into the game, handing Indiana immediate momentum.

Any chance of settling in disappeared soon after. In the second quarter, a run pass option fell apart when running back Dierre Hill Jr. collided with Moore's throwing arm, forcing a fumble that Indiana recovered at the 3-yard line. One play later, the Hoosiers scored on a 1-yard rushing touchdown.

By halftime, Indiana held a commanding 35 to 7 lead, and Moore's rough start became the focus online. With Moore widely projected as the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft by the New York Jets, fans wasted no time leaning into a familiar punchline.

"Dante Moore is ready to be a New York Jet," one fan wrote on X.

"If you want to know what Dante Moore's rookie season will look like on the Jets, it's this," another posted.

Indiana never loosens its grip

While Moore struggled, Indiana Hoosiers were relentless. The Hoosiers dominated Oregon Ducks from the opening seconds and never allowed the game to drift back into doubt, rolling to a 56-22 victory in a stadium filled largely with Indiana supporters.

Leading the charge was Fernando Mendoza. The Heisman Trophy winner delivered another composed performance, completing 17 of 20 passes for 177 yards and 5 touchdowns. His efficiency carved through an Oregon defense that had shut out Big 12 champion Texas Tech just one week earlier.

Mendoza, who is widely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders after their 3-14 season, looked completely in control. Indiana's offense moved with purpose, and the game felt decided well before the fourth quarter arrived.

For Moore, the night served as a sharp reminder of how unforgiving the playoff stage can be. Despite his talent and draft stock, early turnovers defined his evening and turned him into the center of online ridicule, particularly among fans of a Jets franchise still searching for stability at quarterback.
