Under coach Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes have bulked up massively. Their offensive line now weighs in as the third heaviest in College Football, snagging praise from Georgia Tech coach Brent Key and stoking expectations of dominance up front.

As the Buffs prepare for their season opener agains the Yellow Jackets, all eyes are on whether their size translates into ground game glory. Coach Prime has asked for humility, but this hypes up the season for Colorado.

Colorado is "big up front"

Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key didn't mince words during media day when asked about facing Colorado. "They've gone after size and mass", he remarked.

They might be, if not the biggest, one of the biggest offensive lines in the country. And I'm talking every level. They're massive.

Colorado's OL comes in at a staggering 329 pound average, trailing only Texas A&M (330) and Texas State (341.4). Highlight players include freshman Chauncey Gooden (380 lbs), transfer Larry Johnson III (350), and a core group of 340 pounders like Aki Ogunbiyi, Walker Anderson, Zy Crisler, Yahya Attia, and Mana Taimani. Left tackle Jordan Seaton even bumped his listed weight up from 305 to 330 during the summer.

A recipe for ground control

This isn't just a bigger Buffaloes line, it's a smarter one too. Coach Prime believes this could be the most imposing OL he's assembled in Boulder. "They're physical, they're smart, they're tough, they're truly disciplined", he said, crediting coaches Gunnar White, George Hegamin, and Andre Gurode for molding the group.

That size, refined by coaching and conditioning under Andreu Swasey, signals the Buffs are primed for heavier reliance on the ground game, especially against teams like Georgia Tech. Defensive fronts that succeed on speed and agility will be tested by sheer mass and muscle. Under the hood of this behemoth, Colorado may have crafted a golden ticket to controlling the line of scrimmage and game tempo.
