The conflict between the United States and Iran is about to enter a new chapter. The Asian country refused to comply with the ultimatum issued by Trump, the president let time pass to make a decision that, now, seems final. The Republican leader has announced that the United States intends to take control of the Strait of Hormuz.
The US president announced this decision on his Truth Social profile. Negotiations between Iran and Pakistan have not gone well and, for the moment, the strait will remain closed. However, Donald Trump has already announced that he will act this Sunday, April 12.
Donald Trump: "The US Navy will begin blocking all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz"
"The meeting went well, agreement was reached on most points, but the only really important point, nuclear weapons, was not approved. With immediate effect, the United States Navy, the best in the world, will begin to blockade all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz," the former president wrote on his Truth Social profile.
The Republican Party leader also said the Navy has already been instructed to intercept all ships that have paid a toll to Iran to pass through the strait. For Trump, this fee is "illegal" and he does not believe that this revenue should be received by his 'rival' in this conflict.
According to Trump, Iran's true intentions may be different: "The blockade will begin shortly. Other countries will participate in this blockade. Iran will not be allowed to benefit from this illegal act of extortion. They want money and, more importantly, they want nuclear weapons."
"This is international extortion, and the leaders of the countries, especially the United States, will never allow themselves to be extorted," was the latest warning from the president.
