The 29-year-old Scottish golfer had a tournament to forget, which included being reprimanded by Masters officials.

The story of The Masters through the first two rounds is obviously Rory McIlroy. The reigning champion has come out on absolute fire this year, giving himself a six-stroke lead and a fantastic chance to become just the fourth golfer ever to win consecutive Masters.

Yet it was a different golfer from the United Kingdom who stole headlines early in the tournament, but for the wrong reasons. Robert MacIntyre, who went viral for flashing a middle finger mid-round on Thursday, was reportedly reprimanded by Masters official for that plus overall crude conduct; including dropping F-bombs and slamming his club against the ground.

MacIntyre doesn't seem to regret his actions in any way, though. In fact, he took the opportunity to share an AI-generated image of him flashing the middle finger on his Instagram story shortly after missing the cut on Friday.

Golf purists and those running The Masters may not like it, but fans were loving MacIntyre wearing his heart and emotions on his sleeve; both during the tournament and with his post after. Those expecting an apology will have to keep waiting.

MacIntyre has now missed the cut at each of the last two Masters Tournaments. It's a tough pill to swallow after he had back-to-back Top 25 finishes in 2021 and 2022. He'll look to get back on track potentially next week at the RBC Heritage.
