Antoine Griezmann's move to Orlando City has made a big impact on soccer in the United States, but it's not all good news about his new destination. In his analysis on La Tribu' of Radio MARCA, analyst Raul Fuentes wanted to put the real context of the team to which the Frenchman arrives, warning of the difficulties currently facing the MLS franchise.

Fuentes explained that the start of the season for Orlando City has been very negative, with results reflecting the team's poor form: "He is going, right now, to a team that has quite a few problems," he said. After five rounds of matches, "Orlando has won only one game and lost four," making it clear that the competitive context is not the most favorable for the arrival of a star like Griezmann.

A very difficult start to the season

The journalist delved into the team's recent results, highlighting some particularly harsh defeats that highlight their shortcomings: "Of the four defeats there are a couple or three that have hurt because New York City beat them 5-0, Nashville beat them 5-0". These scores, according to his analysis, reflect an obvious fragility in the current sporting project.

In addition, Fuentes recalled that the situation has led to significant changes on the bench: "Orlando, 15 days ago, dismissed the coach, Colombian Oscar Pareja, who was an institution in that franchise, he had been there for seven years." The departure of the coach shows the instability within the club.

Changes on the bench and doubts about the project

After the dismissal of Pareja, the club has opted for a new direction: "They have appointed an Argentine coach, Martin Perelman". Fuentes left open the possibility that Griezmann's arrival could influence future decisions at the club: "I don't know if this sometimes works like that in MLS, if they're going to ask Antoine Griezmann if he knows any coaches that he gets along with".

It is not one of the best squads in North American soccer

Beyond the bench, the analysis also pointed to the current limitations of the squad, which is far from the league's big projects: "It is not one of the best squads in North American soccer, it does not have very well-known players, although it does have Spaniard Adrian Marin," he said, comparing its level with other more powerful teams such as Inter Miami or Los Angeles.

However, Fuentes did highlight that the arrival of the Frenchman could have a positive effect on the growth of the club. "Perhaps the signing of Antoine Griezmann, from the summer onwards, will serve as a magnet to attract better-known players and strengthen a squad that is currently quite far behind Inter Miami, Los Angeles...". An addition that could mark a turning point in Orlando City's project.
