Although the forecast is a little milder than expected a few days ago, Sunday will see temperatures reach 32 degrees in Austin, so teams and drivers are allowed to wear cooling underwear, which will mean, as in Singapore, that they can use the system, but those who do not need it will have to put half a kilo of extra ballast where it suits them, to equalise the weight of the cars with those 500 grams that the system of tubes with liquid that the FIA has approved this year weighs.

"In accordance with Article 26.19 of the Sporting Regulations, after receiving a forecast from the Official Meteorological Service predicting that the Heat Index will be above 31.0°C at some point during the sprint or race at this event, a heat hazard is declared," said race director Rui Marques.

Relative humidity will be around 55% at race time, which is a far cry from Singapore where it was over 90%, so it may be that many of the competitors finally choose not to wear the suit.

Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso used the suit two weeks ago in Singapore, with a performance that was about an hour long with the liquid cold. It is not certain that either of them will use it this weekend.
