Floyd Mayweather follows in the footsteps of Oleksandr Usyk. If the heavyweight champion announced a fight with his world title (WBC) on the line against Rico Verhoeven, a kickboxing legend, 'Money' confirmed an exhibition fight against kickboxer Mike Zambidis, prior to his return in a professional fight against Manny Pacquiao in September.

Mayweather, 49, had announced that he was ending his nine-year retirement and would start with an exhibition bout against Mike Tyson in the spring, but has now also added a fight against Zambidis (18-time world champion) on June 27 at the Oaka Arena in Athens, Greece.

He announced it on his social media with a forceful message: "2026 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for me... This summer will be a legendary battle June is the month where history will be made."

Zambidis, 45, retired from kickboxing in 2015 after his decision victory over Steve Moxon. Four years later, he came out of retirement to face his only professional boxing match. He faced Venezuelan Antonio Gomez, whom he defeated despite suffering a hand injury in the first round.
