When Jake Paul called out both Gervonta Davis and Anthony Joshua following his latest victory, it was taken as a joke by many. That is, until "Tank" actually took Paul up on his offer. It was set to be a financial and entertainment success for both fighters, but Davis' never-ending legal issues forced Paul to take him off the card.

Now, Paul is racing against time to try to find a replacement. He doesn't want to fight just anyone; a notable name would be ideal, but that's difficult due to how short notice it is. Paul and his promotion company is likely sorting through countless names right now, trying to find the best case scenario. That may come in the form of a former rival, and his name is Nate Diaz.

Nate Diaz claims he has accepted Jake Paul rematch offer

On Tuesday night, Diaz posted an emphatic statement that practically confirmed the rematch is happening: "Fight accepted. You're dead."

Paul or Most Valuable Promotions haven't posted anything confirming the fight. They could still be ironing out contract details and Diaz may have jumped the gun. With such little time before the event, Paul doesn't have many other options on such short notice. A Diaz rematch looks like his best option right now.

Paul and Diaz previously fought in Dallas, Texas in August of 2023. Paul won by unanimous decision.
